How your donation is handled

We fund eye surgery, cancer treatment and emergency relief in Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia. We pay partner hospitals and vetted local relief partners directly, against trustee-approved lists of named patients, and never give cash to individuals. We do not run our own hospitals: treatment is given by licensed partner clinicians registered with the PMDC in Pakistan, the KKI in Indonesia or the MMC in Malaysia.

World Aid Network is governed by named trustees under a written constitution (PDF). Our grant-making policy (PDF) covers how payments to partners are approved.

When you choose eye surgery, cancer treatment or emergency relief, your gift is restricted and stays with that cause. A gift to “where most needed” is unrestricted: our trustees direct it to the most urgent programme. See where your donation goes.

We do not claim a 100% donation policy. Running costs can include payment fees, safeguarding, reporting, transfers and administration. We have not yet published reconciled appeal totals or a verified spending percentage.

At checkout you can choose to add a contribution towards card fees, calculated as 1.5% + 20p for a gift in pounds. It is recorded separately from your gift and does not guarantee that all fees are covered. Our financial controls policy (PDF) sets out how payments are authorised.

When you choose Zakat, your gift is marked as Zakat and goes only to eye surgery or cancer treatment. We do not accept Zakat for emergency relief or “where most needed”, and this site’s checkout cannot accept Fitrana, fidya or kaffarah.

We do not issue Shariah rulings. If you are unsure whether paying a hospital for a named patient meets the approach you follow, read whether Zakat can fund medical treatment or ask a qualified scholar before you give.

Our charity registration is in progress: we have applied to register in England and Wales, application reference 5290505. An application reference is not a charity number. Gift Aid is not currently available: future claims would need HMRC recognition and eligibility checks. Our ICO registration, ZC156579, covers data protection only. Read our registration status.
