Where your donation goes: causes, costs and records

Where a gift to World Aid Network goes: partner hospitals, named-patient lists, restricted causes, running costs and what we have not yet published.

The quick answer

Your gift goes to the cause you choose: eye surgery, cancer treatment or emergency relief, or “where most needed” for our trustees to direct. We pay partner hospitals and vetted local relief partners directly, against trustee-approved lists, and never give cash to individuals.

Medical programmes

Eye surgery funds cataract surgery and other eye procedures, and cancer treatment funds diagnosis, surgery and chemotherapy, for patients who cannot afford care. Partner hospitals are paid for named patients on trustee-approved lists. Around £200 is a planning estimate per cataract operation; cancer costs vary by diagnosis. Any amount is a contribution to care, not the price of a guaranteed outcome.

Emergency relief

Emergency relief funds food, clean water, hygiene kits and temporary shelter after disasters, delivered by vetted local partners. It does not rebuild homes or fund clinics. We accept emergency relief gifts as Sadaqah only.

Running costs

We do not claim a 100% donation policy. Running costs can include payment fees, safeguarding, reporting, transfers and administration. An optional contribution towards card fees at checkout is recorded separately from your gift. Read our donation policy for how restricted gifts and Zakat are handled.

Records and reporting

We have not yet published reconciled appeal totals or a verified spending percentage. Our grant-making policy (PDF) and financial controls policy (PDF) describe how payments to partners are approved and authorised.
